My short story Forged in Heaven, Tempered in Hell, should be appearing in the excellent Swords and Sorcery Magazine, fairly soon.
It’s my third appearance in S&S (the earlier stories were Bones Heal and The Harvester of Souls) and the magazine itself is well worth your time. The editor, Curtis Ellett, has a real passion for sword and sorcery and a new market for s&s is always welcome.
The story is part of a (very loose) sequence that, in my mind at least, go under the collective title of Thule Before the Ice and imagines the continent of Thule not as one of ice and snow but one of exotic deserts, dangerous cities and dense, dangerous jungles (the Ice came when the world titled on its axis many thousands of years later, if you’re wondering where all these deserts and jungles in the north came from).
The new issue should be up soon, but in the meantime, here is a link to the magazine (which is well worth your time): http://www.swordsandsorcerymagazine.com
